Middle School After School (MSAS) Site Lead

Community Education is looking for a Middle School After School (MSAS) Site Lead for Dakota Meadows and Prairie Winds Middle Schools beginning September 2026. Middle School After School is an after school club program, where MAPS students in grades 6-8 attending PWMS & DMMS have the opportunity to join a variety of academically focused clubs hosted after school from 3:25-5:00 pm.

Under the guidance of the Enrichment Specialist, the MSAS Site Lead will plan and oversee enrichment clubs, work within budgets, support staff, ensure smooth operations, and maintain a safe, engaging environment. Site lead will foster collaboration with parents, staff, and schools while stepping in as needed.

Major Responsibilities:

• Program Planning & Implementation:
  Plan and organize age-appropriate clubs aligned with student interests and facility availability. Collaborate with the Enrichment Specialist to identify resources and manage program budgets, timelines, and registration details in the Eleyo system.
• Staff Recruitment & Management:
  Work with the Enrichment Specialist to recruit, hire, schedule, mentor, and coach club leaders. Lead training on safety protocols and provide daily direction to program staff regarding setup, cleanup, and program expectations.
• Operational Oversight:
  Ensure accurate and timely submission of timesheets, supply lists, and documentation. Maintain organized site records, equipment, and supplies.
• Student & Parent Engagement:
  Guide student behavior, model social and problem-solving skills, and maintain positive communication with parents, guardians, and staff. Monitor student supervision and ensure a safe, positive environment.
• Leadership & Training:
  Lead staff meetings, participate in workshops and training, and step in as needed to support or lead activities.
• Collaboration & Communication:
  Foster strong relationships with Community Education staff, school personnel, and parents to support program success.
• Other Duties:
  Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Applicant Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older with a minimum of one year experience working with school age children or college classes in a related field
• Must pass a background check through the Minnesota Department of Human Services
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or must be obtained within first 60 days of employment

• Ability to independently plan and implement appropriate program experiences incorporating enrichment and leisure activities that are developmentally and age-appropriate for middle school youth

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in a professional manner
• Ability to work as a team member, to work independently, and to give direction to staff
• Ability to act responsibly with confidential information regarding students and families

First-aid and CPR certified (within 60 days of employment)

The Site Lead reports to the Community Education Enrichment Specialist.

Hours:

Up to 20 hrs week (September - May)

• Day Hours Flexible - 4-5 hours daily
• After School 3:00 - 5:30 pm

Rate of Pay:
Range: $16.75 - $18.75 - Salary dependent on experience
