Description
Position SummaryResponsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for engineering and manufacturing processes along with coordinating Engineering Change Notice documentation and process flow. Working closely with engineers, product managers, and other professionals, the CAD Designer ensures that all components are accurately represented and compliant with industry standards. This job requires proficiency in CAD software and a strong understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering and design principles.
EssentialDuties
- Review and edit documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in language and formatting.
- Develop and maintain document control procedures, including version control and document distribution.
- Interface with project personnel to work effectively in a multi-discipline team environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, operations, and quality assurance to align on project objectives.
- Prepare and revise drawings, models, and other drafting documents.
- Use CAD software to create detailed designs and technical drawings.
- Review and modify designs to improve production efficiency.
- Prepare assembly and installation guidelines based on drawings.
- Maintain and update existing design documentation.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to design planning.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and document management software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (Creo preferred).
- Knowledge of drafting standards and mathematics.
- Ability to work in a team and independently.
- At least 2 years' experience as a design drafter or a similar role.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborative work.
- Familiarity with manufacturing and engineering processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering, or related field.
- Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
