As a Senior Professional Transportation Engineer/Project Manager in Mankato, you will work closely with the office manager to create the team, develop the culture, and grow the client base. You will be the technical lead for transportation design projects, guiding staff and providing mentoring in project management and leadership.
Responsibilities- Engineering Leadership – provide expertise in all aspects of roadway design and guide staff in developing innovative solutions and high‑quality deliverables.
- Project Management – prepare proposals, plan project scope, schedule, and budget; lead the team; monitor progress; and engage the client and public to deliver an excellent project experience.
- Team Development – create an atmosphere that maximizes creative and productive potential through employee engagement and openness.
- Client Relations – engage clients to understand and deliver on their needs, enhancing Alliant’s competitive advantage and quality work.
- Business Development – proactively seek opportunities with current and potential clients through project engagement, marketing research, and community service.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- 10+ years of highway design experience in layouts, plans, specs, and estimates
- Proficiency with Micro Station and GEOPAK
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality work on schedule
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Experience supervising, leading, teaching, and mentoring project staff
- Skillful in presenting technical concepts to clients and the public
- Public engagement experience
- History of establishing strong client relationships
- Experience writing proposals
- Design‑build or CMGC experience

The base salary for this position is expected to be in the range of $100,000–$130,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
