Drafter

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consultant firm, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Mankato, MN office as a drafter.

Under general supervision, the successful candidate will utilize computer‑aided drafting and other compatible software tools to support engineering and drafting projects with a goal to develop sub‑professional work knowledge and abilities by executing drafter assignments under the supervision of an experienced project engineer or project manager.

• Work includes drawings of general arrangements, structures, facilities, site plans, facility layouts, electrical schematics, wiring and connection requirements.
• Performing drafting work manually or by use of a computer requiring knowledge and skills in drafting methods, procedures and techniques.
• Using a recognized system of symbols, legends, shadings, lines and layering in accordance with ECI Drafting Standards.
• Preparing as‑built drawings from red‑line copies.
• Preparing error‑free revisions of preexisting CADD files.
• Performing a variety of assignments which may include drawing reproduction, handling material supplies and other similar work.

• College degree in an acceptable curriculum or two‑year technical certificate in computer‑aided drafting/design, or a minimum of two years concentrated on the job experience in computer‑aided drafting/design field.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Micro Station/Bentley Connect a plus.
• Must have proven effective verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work individually and on a team.
• Must be detail oriented and possess a high level of organizational skills.
• Proven ability to work with confidential information and exercise independent judgment.
• Occasional travel/driving may be required.

$23 - $34/hr.
