A typical day as a Tax Manager might include the following:

• Prepares, Reviews, and signs individual, business, and other types of tax returns for clients in various entities and industries.
• Works with the tax team to ensure the various components of the tax process are performed – including tax planning, client interaction, and special tax projects.
• Looks at tax situations from various angles to ensure the maximum tax benefit is applied.
• Develops solutions and communicates those solutions to the engagement team and client.
• Manages client relationships by monitoring client needs and building value into professional services.
• Participates in business development.
• Assists with client billings to ensure they reflect work performed.
• Supervises and delegates duties to Associate and Senior Associate level staff.
• Provides mentoring and technical training for employees in the tax department.
• Attends training seminars, professional development, and networking events.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Valid CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification.
• 5–7 years of tax experience within public accounting.
• Extensive knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations.
• Actively stays up‑to‑date on changing tax industry regulations and policies.
• Self‑starter who enjoys working independently and in a team environment.
• Able to focus on complex tasks and quickly understand the firm’s comprehensive compliance processes.

$89,000–118,000. Our compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and equitable pay. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying ranges. Final compensation decisions are dependent upon factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and internal equity.
