• We are hiring immediately for part‑time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) positions.
• Location:
  
  Mayo Clinic – 1025 Marsh Street, Mankato, MN 56001. Online applications accepted only.
• Schedule:
  
  Part‑time. Shifts include 6:00 am‑10:00 am, 3:00 pm‑8:30 pm, and 4:00 pm‑8:30 pm. Days may vary with rotating weekends and holidays. Further details upon interview.
• Requirement:
  Previous patient/food service experience required.
• Fixed pay rate: $18.87 per hour.

Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, providing services such as helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering, and picking up their meal trays. Associates are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction goals by ensuring meals are accurate, delivered on time, and at the correct temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements and restrictions.
• Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences, or additional selections requested.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s selection in a timely and accurate manner; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO; adhere to HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations and breaking down patient tray lines.
• Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians with monitoring patients who cannot eat orally, are on liquid diets, or require specific calorie counts.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner, following department procedures.
• Complete all daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver and push food delivery carts.
