- Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
- Support professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care.
- Function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model: plan, implement, evaluate, communicate all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
- Lead through preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
- Delegate patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources.
- Possess excellent communication skills; mentor and teach; participate on committees or projects.
- May be required to drive personal vehicle as part of responsibilities (subset of employees).
- Role eligible for TN sponsorship; requires state licensure and completion of Visa Screen (or equivalent certification).
- Graduate of a nursing program.
- All entry‑level associate degree registered nurses (RN start date April 1 2020 or after) must provide documented evidence of baccalaureate degree in nursing within five years from RN start date.
- All entry‑level associate degree registered nurses (RN start date prior to April 1 2020) must provide documented evidence of baccalaureate degree in nursing per degree requirement at hire.
- One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; team environment experience.
- Computer skills required; prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends and on‑call; adapt to unpredictable situations.
- Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, excellent critical thinking skills.
- Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
- Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Positions not on campus may not require current BLS competency as determined by work area.
- Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by work area.
$42.84 – $65.84 per hour. Mayo Clinic’s nursing compensation model rewards experience, education and dedication.
SchedulePart Time – 12 Hour Day/Night Rotation; 48 hours per pay period;
Every 3rd weekend/holiday. (Schedules may vary.)
