Quantum Global Technologies is seeking a talented Engineer II to support manufacturing operations by developing process documentation, optimizing assembly workflows, and ensuring product quality and compliance. This role collaborates with cross‑functional teams and customers to streamline build procedures, resolve technical issues, and implement engineering changes. It provides training, drives continuous improvement, and contributes to cost estimation and capital planning.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Requires a broad knowledge of manufacturing practices, assembly prints, bill of materials to create manufacturing‑ready documentation such as S.O.E.’s (Sequence of Events) and assembly process workflow.
  • Provides technical direction and on‑the‑job training to production staff.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates the manufacturing engineer portion of the system build.
  • Prepares and/or modifies work instructions, BOM structures, and training curriculum.
  • Ensures proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
  • Requires contact with customers and vendor representatives and attends customer meetings.
  • Confers with engineers, technicians, customers, and others to discuss best practices to streamline build processes and procedures.
  • Inspects completed systems; partners with manufacturing and quality organizations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Supports project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Investigates customer or internal issues, determines nature and extent of the problem, and recommends corrective actions.
  • Assists in cost estimations and development of capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
  • Evaluates and processes engineering change orders.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Attendance is an essential duty of this position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Knowledge of electronic work instruction software is a plus (i.e., Sequence).
  • ERP system software.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite, emphasis in Excel.
  • Prior experience leading small teams to achieve project success.
  • Good interpersonal skills: ability to work alone or in a team environment.
Educational / Certification Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Manufacturing, or related field preferred with 2 years of experience in related manufacturing/production position; or Associate of Arts (AA) in a technical field with more than 5 years of manufacturing experience.
Experience Requirements
  • Work experience:

    5+ years related experience in high‑technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry.
  • Working knowledge of quick‑turn, engineer‑to‑order environment.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to kneel, reach, walk, push, pull, and grasp.

  • Prolonged sitting with some standing and bending intermittently during work hours.

Environmental Exposure

  • The ability to talk on the phone and use a computer for extended periods may be required.
  • May involve exposure to moderate noise levels from printers, faxes, computers, etc.
