Lineman

• Provides mid‑level aerial installation functions including hand digging, setting up traffic control, entry‑level equipment operations, placing fiber, climbing poles, and loading materials.
• Proficient with utility print and map reading.
• Has performed at least 2 years of independent aerial cable placement and installation; knows all safety regulations with basic operating skills.
• Climbs utility poles and/or utilizes lift to place cable in adherence to print designs and maps.
• Supports the set‑up and shut‑down of utility construction projects including traffic control in various conditions.
• Follows required safety practices while performing safety‑sensitive duties.
• Trains alongside experienced construction crews learning fiber installation, print reading, equipment operations and OSHA requirements.
• Loads and unloads materials and equipment in from vehicles at construction yards and jobsites.
• Acts as right‑hand to the Foreman, leads by example, ensures safety rules/regulations are followed, and may lead other’s on jobsites.
• Performs OTJ training with Foreman or Senior Foreman to grow technical and leadership skills.
• Assists in identifying hazards by utilizing the pre‑task process.
• Performs other position duties when requested.

• Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions such as sitting, squatting, standing, walking, climbing.
• May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels while onsite.
• Regular exposure to all weather conditions: hot, humid, cold, rain, snow, ice, etc.
• Wearing common protective safety equipment – safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, steel‑toed boots.

• 2+ years of lineman experience within the telecommunications industry.
• Formalized training or Lineman certification from an accredited tech school.
• 6 months OTJ training and 1 year of Lineman experience required if no formal education.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• CDL license (or ability to obtain).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
