Woodard & Curran is growing, and we are looking for qualified Water Distribution and/or Treatment Operators in Mansfield, CT! The Water Operator regularly participates in the daily operations and maintenance of the Water Treatment and Distribution facility as directed by the Plant Manager. ResponsibilitiesEach day presents different challenges and learning opportunities as we work towards maintaining 100% compliance which is achieved by daily process monitoring and a comprehensive maintenance system. Operators work M-F between the hours of . Operators rotate a 7 day on call coverage schedule, with a $200 per week on call stipend provided.
What You Will Need To Succeed- Preferably possess a minimum of Connecticut Class 1 Treatment and Class 2 Distribution Operator Licenses – or the ability to acquire these licenses within 2 years.
- 1-3 years’ experience in the water treatment and distribution industry preferred.
- A valid State of Connecticut motor vehicle operator's license.
- Working knowledge of the principles, procedures, methods, equipment, materials, and tools employed in the operation and maintenance of Wastewater Treatment and Collection Systems.
- Proficiency with computers, including an ability to work with: SCADA, Microsoft Word, Excel, Maintenance Management Programs, and other site‑specific systems.
- Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in wastewater treatment work.
- Knowledge of computer applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.

$26 - $32 an hour
Pay range depends upon level of certification and experience.
