Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the hiring, onboarding, training and management of the Northeast regional Rheumatology MSL team including:
  • Strengthening and building JNJ’s external footprint across the rheumatology space
  • Driving field results and execution for Tremfya in PsA
  • Ensuring that the team functions according to the Medical Affairs plan and company directives
  • Conducting routine team field visits and 1:1 meetings; providing observation and coaching
  • Conducting performance coaching and feedback discussions
  • Providing oversight responsibility for team’s training and development
  • Ensuring team optimal capacity, field activity level, and field metrics
  • Collaborating with headquarters
  • Ensuring each MSL territory plan is strategic, up to date and actionable.
  • Managing the team through special projects and cross functional support activities
  • Collaborates and aligns with other Field Directors for consistent execution of field medical plans across the US Provide career and succession planning in support of staff reaching their highest potential
  • Provide an optimal working environment by promoting/functioning according to Credo values, communication of a clear direction, active listening, respecting inclusion, encouraging collaborative partnership, empowering direct reports, follow up on commitments, promoting innovation, and rewarding high performance
  • Responsible for timely completion of administrative duties. Examples include assessment and approval of expense reports, preparation and communication of team metric reports, among others.
  • Co-lead the communication of MSL team achievement updates to appropriate internal partners and levels of management
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a graduate medical/scientific degree required, i.e. PhD, Pharm

    D, NP, PA, MD, DO
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience, with a minimum of 5 years of healthcare/pharmaceutical or medical device industry experience required
  • Experience as a MSL or Field Medical Manager is required
  • Previous people management responsibility, including experience onboarding and training new hires, is required.
  • Immunology experience highly preferred.
  • Requires travel of approx. 60% (includes overnight travel)
  • Ability to maintain an office in the home and live in close proximity to an airport.
  • Must be available to attend national scientific congresses and key strategic/scientific meetings across the US, and at the corporate office in Horsham, PA.

Base pay range: $160,000 - $280,000. Eligible for company car, annual performance bonus, and company benefit programs including health insurance, savings plan, pension plan, disability plan, vacation pay, sick time, holiday pay, and work, personal and family time off in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
