Senior Director of Accounting

The Senior Director of Accounting is a full-time, on-site role based in Mansfield, OH, responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting functions for MK Metal Products. This role leads the accounting team in managing general ledger activities, month-end and year-end closings, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. The Senior Director of Accounting develops and maintains internal controls, ensures compliance with GAAP and relevant tax and regulatory requirements, and partners with leadership to support strategic financial planning and operational decision-making.

Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing financial statements, monitoring cost accounting and job costing in a manufacturing environment, managing audits, optimizing accounting systems and processes, and providing clear financial insights to executive and operations teams. The role also involves mentoring staff, enhancing accounting best practices, and collaborating across departments to support accurate project costing, inventory valuation, and capital investment analysis.

• Strong foundation in financial accounting and reporting, including expertise in GAAP, general ledger management, and preparation and review of financial statements.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and long-term financial planning for a manufacturing or industrial organization.
• Proficiency in cost accounting, job costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis within an engineering and fabrication environment.
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain internal controls, compliance processes, and support external and internal audits.
• Advanced skills with accounting and ERP systems, as well as spreadsheet and financial modeling tools (e.g., Excel or similar software).
• Proven leadership capabilities in managing and developing accounting teams, with clear communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred.
• Relevant experience at the senior management level in accounting or finance, ideally within manufacturing, metal fabrication, or industrial equipment sectors.
