Summary: The Adena Craft Shop Manager provides full operational oversight of the Adena-Craft fabrication shop, including all casework, millwork, countertops, exhibit builds, and related installation activities. This role is responsible for managing production, quality, staffing, training, and execution across all shop operations.

The Shop Manager oversees all fabricated work produced by Adena-Craft and is accountable for ensuring that products meet design intent, quality standards, schedule requirements, and installation expectations. This individual directly supervises the Casework Manufacturing Lead, and serves as the primary steward of shop performance, culture, and craftsmanship.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide full leadership and accountability for all Adena-Craft shop operations.
  • Oversee fabrication and installation of custom casework consisting of wood, plastic laminate, solid surface, countertops, custom millwork, and specialty components.
  • Oversee exhibit fabrication, including museum and interactive exhibit builds that require research, development, prototyping, and custom architectural and engineering solutions.
  • Plan and sequence shop work to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
  • Support onboarding and training of new shop personnel.
  • Lead and actively participate in the fabrication of all build types.
  • Ensure that products meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Work alongside the operations manager to coach, mentor, and improve the staff’s technical skill sets.
  • Apply finishes including stains, varnishes, paints, and lacquers as required.
  • Install hardware, such as hinges, handles, locks, catches, or drawer pulls, using hand tools.
  • Attach decorative or functional accessories to products.
  • Support installation efforts when required, including travel to job sites.
  • Work with others to maintain safety and efficiency in the cabinet shop.
  • Adhere to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications/Skills
  • Sufficient education or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and characteristics to perform duties of the role.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in casework / counter top fabrication.
  • CNC router and edge bander experience preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to jobsites which may at times require overnight stays away from home.
  • Must obtain training and/or certification prior to operating any equipment.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Ability to use equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Must have a good work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
Casework Fabrication Lead

The Casework Fabrication Lead is responsible for overseeing the fabrication of all custom casework and countertops produced by Adena Craft. This role serves as the secondary shop‑floor leader under the Shop Manager, ensuring that work is done efficiently, accurately, and to a high standard of quality. The position works hands‑on alongside the fabrication team while also taking ownership of workflow planning, quality control, training, and day‑to‑day production.

This individual partners closely with operations and project teams to ensure fabricated components meet design intent, schedule requirements, and installation expectations.
