The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Substitute renders nursing care services to facility residents as directed by licensed physician, dentist, podiatrist, or R.N. in adherence to the Nurse Practice Act and in accordance with the facility's objectives and policies, (e.g. administers medications, treatments, tube feedings; assesses residents' medical status and initiates appropriate nursing interventions to meet the resident's needs; consults with registered nurse for her expertise, when indicated).
Communicates with consulting medical personnel when delegated by the supervisor.
Requires current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing Pharmacology completed and good physical stamina with the ability to lift 50#, bend, stoop, position and transfer. Required to undergo physical examination, drug test,TB test, and criminal background check including fingerprints.
CertificationFirst Aid and CPR (must maintain as a condition of employment). Must possess and maintain a valid Ohio Driver's License and be insurable. Must maintain 24 hours of CNE every two years and present proof of license renewal.
