Position: Nurse 1 (Registered Nurse)

What You'll Do
  • Administers medication (e.g., oral, intramuscular, and intravenous) and monitors patient medication compliance.
  • Performs treatments, nurse’s sick calls, and assists with doctor’s sick calls.
  • Manages nursing duties in chronic care clinics.
  • Responds to emergencies, providing emergency care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Performs subjective and objective assessment of patients, collects vital signs, and timely documents all findings.
  • Collects urine and/or other bodily fluid specimens.
  • Prepares patients for release or transfer to other facilities (e.g., intrasystem or out to court) by reviewing patient care, transfer summaries or release summaries.
  • Ensures discharge medication orders are completed and forwarded to pharmacy services.
  • Participates in work-related training and institutional training exercises.
  • Provides assistance to other healthcare staff, investigates and documents problem areas or concerns, and reviews shift reports.
  • Assists physicians with medical procedures and performs or assists with inventory and ordering of medical supplies.
  • Provides counseling/education to patients regarding healthcare maintenance and disease prevention.
  • Participates in quality assurance activities.
  • Provides training, work direction, and orientation to new or agency nurses, licensed practical nurses, and hospital aides.
  • Serves as a resource for other healthcare and security staff regarding healthcare matters.
  • Provides orientation and training for new healthcare personnel at the direction of the Nursing Supervisor.
  • Serves as the lead clinical authority on site in the absence of the HCA, QIC, medical director, or advanced level provider staff.
  • Participates in group programming, health and wellness initiatives, and administrative duties.
  • Attends and schedules multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Assumes the duties of shift charge as assigned by the HCA, making shift work assignments and adjustments.
  • Assists ancillary staff as needed to ensure patient care needs are met.
Required Qualifications
  • Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio, issued by the Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Ohio Revised Code.
  • Experience in acute and emergency care, medication administration, patient assessment, and patient education.
  • Strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and cultural awareness skills.

Starting Pay

Approximately $78,000 based on location and shift assignments.
