Description:
The role involves overseeing the healthcare needs of bedridden inmates.
Responsibilities include making rounds and evaluating care needed and rendered.
As part of the role, you will develop care plans and teach healthcare principles.
You will administer medication, including narcotics, and provide direct nursing care as needed.
Specialized procedures include IV therapy, chemotherapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, dialysis, blood transfusions, incubation, CPR, tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning, and phlebotomy duties.
You will organize and oversee the code blue team.
The position involves directing healthcare staff assigned to your area.
You will act as the lead worker in charge of one assigned shift in the absence of a designated employee.
Assisting physicians in giving diagnostic health evaluations will also be part of your duties.
Clerical tasks include charting and recording all medications, treatments, and pertinent medical information.
You will complete required reports, including incident and accident reports.
Documenting Medicaid information is also required.
You will be responsible for ordering supplies and maintaining an inventory of controlled drugs, medications, and equipment.
Arranging outpatient clinic appointments and medical examinations will be necessary.
You will facilitate new and refilled prescriptions ordered by physicians.
Performing administrative tasks and serving as a liaison within the organization is expected.
Occasional teaching responsibilities may be required.
You will have the opportunity to be a member or leader of problem-solving teams.
Compliance with facility regulations is mandatory.
