CDL Class A Delivery Truck Driver – Performance Food Group, Mansfield, OH

Base pay: $80,000–$89,000 per year. Paid for experience and skill level.

Position

Purpose:

Food and food‑service delivery drivers play a critical role in maintaining the country’s food supply chain. Drivers ensure products arrive on time, in good condition, and serve as the company’s face, building lasting customer relationships.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co‑workers to answer questions accurately and promptly.
  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post‑trip) and inspect tractors/trailers per DOT regulations.
  • Report safety hazards, repairs, and issues, and maintain compliance with DOT and company safe‑driving policies.
  • Load and unload food items, verify invoices, and complete documentation accurately.
  • Drive to and deliver orders according to the predetermined route schedule, ensuring proper signatures and payment collection when required.
  • Secure and lock tractors, trailers, and freight during and after delivery.
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle, loading dock, and drive‑way areas; safely dispose of trash and damaged goods.
  • Complete daily hours‑of‑service logs and other mandatory paperwork in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL‑A license.
  • Minimum age 21 years.
  • Meet all applicable state licensing and certification requirements.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test and obtain/maintain a valid DOT Health Card.
  • Ability to lift and operate equipment (e.g., 2‑wheelers, lift gates) for product cases ranging from ~10–90 pounds.
