The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher role at Mansfield ISD is a full-time, on-site position located in Mansfield, TX. The primary responsibilities include designing and implementing individualized lesson plans, adapting teaching materials to meet the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, and creating an inclusive classroom environment. The teacher will also collaborate with students, families, school staff, and other relevant professionals to support students’ educational and personal growth.
Providing training and resources for staff and guardians regarding communication strategies and best practices for working with students with hearing impairments is also a key part of this role.
- Strong skills in Lesson Planning and developing educational strategies tailored to individual student needs
- Expertise in Education and Teaching methods, specifically for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Proficient Communication and ability to interact effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Experience in providing Training and guidance on communication methods and inclusive practices to staff and caregivers
- Certification in Deaf Education or equivalent, with a preference for knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL)
- Commitment to fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and adaptive learning materials
- Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for supporting student success
