Overview

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the successful management of personnel practices and policies, including policy interpretation and administration, employee relations, training, compensation, benefits, and other duties necessary to ensure maximum effectiveness of the Human Resources function.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify and align with the most critical business priorities to drive strategic decision-making through your role and department.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen and the ability to leverage data insights to influence business strategies and outcomes, driving ROI with our talent.
  • Establish and maintain open, clear, and transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment, collaboration, and successful achievement of business objectives.
  • Provide direction and guidance to other staff on Human Resource activities, including employee relations, employee activities, attendance, disability, records management and policy and procedures.
  • Manage the on‑boarding process for all local hires, including reviewing and approving background checks, collecting documentation, conducting new employee orientation presentations, I‑9 compliance, new employee announcements, and ensuring all new employees complete key training and policy acknowledgments.
  • Oversee processing of payroll for the facility, including auditing payroll records and answering and processing payroll inquiries such as court‑ordered child support deductions and garnishments.
  • Identify training and development needs and assist in the delivery and implementation of programs.
  • Handle all phases of benefit enrollment and administration and provide assistance to employees with benefit issues and questions.
  • Manage leave of absences for employees, interfacing with third‑party vendors to administer STD, FMLA, and Workers’ Compensation, and oversee ADA and other unpaid leaves.
  • Review, guide, and administer employee disciplinary actions and involuntary termination procedures.
  • Conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
  • Conduct interviews with the recruiting team to hire qualified individuals for open positions.
  • Coordinate all workers’ compensation and unemployment claims processing and interface with third‑party administrators, outside legal counsel, and respective state agencies, while maintaining OSHA and Workers’ Compensation files and logs.
  • Ensure personnel records are maintained; maintain the HRIS (ADP) in compliance with company policy and government agencies, keeping the system of record up‑to‑date.
  • Conduct safety and environmental training to meet company safety goals.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business, or related field and three (3) years of related experience; experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with ADP Workforce Now, Kronos, and Halogen is preferred.
  • Ability to learn quickly and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to handle a high degree of confidential and sensitive information and work with all levels within the organization.
Physical Demand Requirements

Occasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
