American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 5 years of experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Requirements- Active TX or compact RN license required
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- AWHONN Intermediate certification required; AWHONN Advanced preferred
- Military-issued certifications accepted; AHA preferred, ARC not accepted
- Minimum 5 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- Previous travel assignment experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience with high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and vaginal delivery support
- Skilled in fetal monitoring (external and internal) and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Experience with Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and other L&D medication administration
- Competency in postpartum care including cesarean section, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage management
- State-issued for consideration
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Labor & Delivery unit with Antepartum and High Risk Antepartum care
- Facility delivers approximately 100-200 births per month
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- On-call, weekend, float, and holiday coverage may be required
- Patient ratio of 1:1-2
- Epic EMR experience required
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum phases
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries including forceps/vacuum extraction
- Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
- Support breastfeeding and lactation per baby-friendly protocols
- Manage pain control methods including epidural and PCA
- Local candidates within 90 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
- RTO limited to 5 non-consecutive days, with only one holiday RTO request approved during Nov-Jan
- All RTO must be approved by management prior to contract signing
