• Technician: $46,243.00 – $55,045.00 ($22.23 – $26.46/hr)

The Streets Tradesperson, Technician, or Senior Technician works under the general supervision of the Public Works Crew Leader and performs maintenance and repair work on City streets and drainage systems. Role responsibilities vary by level.

• Perform maintenance and repair work on City concrete and asphalt streets on a regular schedule.
• Tamp, pack, shovel and level concrete, asphalt or other materials.
• Load and unload materials and equipment.
• Operate heavy equipment used in street maintenance (e.g., rollers, dump trucks, backhoes, front‑end loaders, skid steers, jackhammers, drills, hand tools).

• Perform maintenance and repair work on City concrete and asphalt streets on a regular schedule.
• Tamp, pack, shovel and level concrete, asphalt or other materials.
• Load and unload materials and equipment.
• Operate heavy equipment used in street maintenance (e.g., rollers, dump trucks, backhoes, front‑end loaders, skid steers, jackhammers, drills, hand tools).

• Maintain high standard of safety, conduct, and job performance.
• Perform maintenance and repair work on City concrete and asphalt streets on a regular schedule.
• Tamp, pack, shovel and level concrete, asphalt or other materials.
• Load and unload materials and equipment.
• Operate heavy equipment used in street maintenance (e.g., rollers, dump trucks, backhoes, front‑end loaders, skid steers, jackhammers, drills, hand tools).

• Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in street repair activities.
• Ability to use mechanical and non‑mechanical hand tools and other devices for routine asphalt/concrete street repairs.
• Physical capability to perform required tasks (lift, climb, kneel, etc.).

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL (must obtain within 6‑month probationary period).
• Minimum of 2 years experience in concrete, asphalt, and/or drainage work for Technician; 4 years for Senior Technician.
• Participation in an on‑call rotation.
• Work Zone Traffic Control Certification.

• Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fiddling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions.
• Very heavy work: exerting >100 lb occasionally, >50 lb frequently, >20 lb constantly.
• Visual acuity required for operating motor vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Exposure to extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, and hazards such as moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, high places, chemicals.
