A growing, modern accountancy practice in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire is seeking a confident Semi Senior Accountant to join its team.

This is an office-based role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing multiple deadlines, and is confident working with a varied client portfolio.

You will gain early responsibility, direct client contact, and the opportunity to take ownership of your own work from the outset.

This position offers a varied workload across Limited company accounts, Bookkeeping, VAT returns, and Tax returns.
The key responsibilities will include:

• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies

• Complete VAT returns accurately and on time

• Manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients

• Assist with personal and corporation tax work

• Communicate directly with clients and resolve queries

• Manage deadlines across multiple assignments

• Identify issues and elevate where appropriate

• Minimum 3 years’ UK accountancy practice experience

• Able to prepare limited company accounts independently

• Experience with corporation tax

• AAT Level 4 qualified (or studying ACCA/ACA)

• Strong Excel skills

• Experience with Xero and Quick Books

• Able to work 4 days per week in the office

• Manage your own portfolio of clients

• Act as the main point of contact

• Deliver accounts and tax work with minimal review

• Proactively identify and resolve client issues

• Office-based, collaborative team

• Fast-paced with regular deadlines

• High level of autonomy and accountability

• Direct communication and no unnecessary hierarchy
