CAD Technician (Joinery) - Mansfield - £30,000 - £40,000 DOE
The RoleWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Technician to support the delivery of high-quality bespoke joinery projects. This role is integral to translating design concepts into accurate, production-ready technical drawings, ensuring seamless coordination between design, project management, and manufacturing teams.
CAD TechnicianKey Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 2D technical drawings using AutoCAD for bespoke joinery and interior fit-out projects
- Develop 3D models and visualisations using Inventor or Solid Works (desirable)
- Interpret design briefs and architectural drawings to create accurate manufacturing information
- Collaborate closely with designers and project managers to ensure design intent is maintained and buildable
- Prepare clear, structured, and precise drawing packages for client approval and workshop production
- Revise and update drawings in line with project changes and feedback
- Ensure all drawings meet company standards, technical requirements, and manufacturing constraints
- Liaise with workshop teams to resolve technical queries and improve build efficiency
- Proven background in joinery manufacturing or bespoke woodworking
- Strong understanding of materials, construction methods, and production processes within joinery
- High level of proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting essential)
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, error-free work
- Strong computer literacy and confidence working with technical software
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and design drawings
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience with 3D CAD software such as Inventor or Solid Works
- Previous experience in high-end residential or commercial fit-out projects
- Understanding of CNC processes and production workflows
- Ability to contribute to design development and problem-solving
