Locum GP maternity cover

Millview Surgery are looking for a GP to work 6 sessions per week on a Monday - AM & PM clinics, Tuesday - AM & PM clinics and Thursday - AM & PM clinics, to cover maternity leave. We are looking for someone to start with us mid-May for 9 months.

The role will include all general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within Primary Care.

You will see 15 patients per clinic of which most will be face to face.

You will be expected to make autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems. Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems, screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.

You will be expcted to provide health education, record clear consultation notes to an agreed standard, collect data for audit and QOF purposes and comply with QOF requirements.

You will be expected to undertake all general duties and responsibilities associated with working in Primary Care.

Millview Surgery isa friendly practice with 8500 patients. We use clinical system System One. Wehave a team of 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Nurse Associate, 1 HCA and 2 Phlebotomistsas well as a team of 12 admin staff.

We have a multi-disciplinary

Practice team with care being provided by a First contact Physio, Practice Pharmacists, Social Prescribers and Mental Health Practitioners.

General Practice can be a lonely speciality and one of our biggest assets is a communal admin room, where the GP's and trainee GP's can meet in the middle of the day to have lunch, catch up and discuss interesting cases or concerns.

Our last CQC rating was good. We consistently have high QOF achievement.

We are looking for the successful candidate to work 6 sessions per week - working Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We will pay £650 per day. We will increase the pay if we ask you to do further duties such as cover on call.

The successful candidate will be expected to treat all common medical conditions and referpatients accordingly to the necessary services. You will offer a fullrange of primary medical services, face to face appointments and some telephone consultations. You may be asked to help cover on call, but this would be pre-planned and pay would be adjusted accordingly.
