Quantity Surveyor

Mansfield, Nottinghamshire | Full-Time | Permanent

Shape the commercial success of specialist engineering projects across the UK & Europe.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and growing engineering business with an outstanding reputation for delivering complex infrastructure and electrical engineering projects.

Working from the company's Mansfield office, you'll take ownership of the commercial management of multiple projects from pre-contract through to final account, working closely with clients, project teams and supply chain partners across the UK and Europe.

The Role
  • Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple engineering projects.
  • Prepare interim valuations, final accounts and cost reports.
  • Identify, value and negotiate project variations.
  • Administer subcontract agreements and manage subcontractor payments.
  • Produce cash flow forecasts and WIP reporting.
  • Mitigate commercial risk and resolve contractual issues.
  • Attend client meetings, pre-contract discussions and project reviews across the UK and Europe.
About You
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years' post-graduate Quantity Surveying experience with a contractor or subcontractor.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management.
  • Experience managing valuations, variations, cost control and final accounts.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial software.
  • A full UK driving licence and CSCS card.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
  • Experience with in electrical engineering, switch gear or a related engineering environment would be advantageous.
