Explore a rewarding opportunity as a Facilities Assistant
- Porter with Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Mansfield. This permanent Band 2 position is ideal for individuals seeking a support role within the NHS, though it's crucial to note that while visa sponsorship is advertised, the salary for this specific role is below the Skilled Worker visa threshold. Applicants requiring a UK work visa should carefully review the salary requirements before applying.

Job Description

We are actively seeking dedicated Facilities Assistants to join the compassionate team at Sherwood Oaks Hospital in Mansfield. This part-time role primarily focuses on maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across all areas, adhering strictly to infection control and health and safety guidelines.

  • Understanding of infection control and health and safety guidelines.

  • Access to a variety of employee-led staff networks, including Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) groups.

How to Prepare

For Nigerian and African immigrants eyeing this Facilities Assistant
- Porter role, a well-structured application is key. Ensure your CV highlights any relevant experience in cleaning, hospitality, or support services, formatted to UK standards. A polished Linked In profile, showcasing your professional skills and alignment with UK work culture, can also make a strong impression. Prepare a cover letter that directly addresses your suitability for the role and your understanding of NHS values.

Given the specific note regarding visa sponsorship and salary, it's vital to be prepared to discuss your immigration status and your understanding of the Skilled Worker visa requirements during the interview. While this role's salary is below the threshold, demonstrating your commitment and understanding of the UK visa system will be important for any future opportunities within the Trust.

  • Update your CV to a UK format, focusing on relevant support or cleaning experience.
  • Prepare a cover letter that addresses your skills and enthusiasm for the role and the NHS.
  • Research the Skilled Worker visa salary thresholds and be ready to discuss your eligibility.
  • Familiarize yourself with NHS values and the Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust's mission.
  • Be prepared for a DBS check, understanding the associated costs and deduction from salary.
Visa Sponsorship & Foreigner Eligibility

Visa sponsorship is advertised as available, however, it is explicitly stated that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled Worker visa. Therefore, the Trust would not be able to sponsor for this specific role. Foreigners may apply, but applicants requiring a Skilled Worker Visa must determine their likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship based on the relevant criteria and salary thresholds.

If your status is borderline or you are unsure, it is crucial to review the UK government's Skilled Worker visa guidelines thoroughly before applying.
