Are you ready to take ownership of Health and Safety across a growing, multi-site waste and recycling business where you can make a genuine, lasting impact?

We are seeking a senior Head of Health and Safety to lead the safety strategy across a specialist UK-wide operation, with responsibility for approximately eight sites and further growth through organic expansion and acquisitions. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a key leadership position, working to shape strategy and drive a consistent Safety First culture across the organisation.

This is a senior role for someone who can operate strategically while maintaining a visible presence across the sites. Based from Mansfield, Newcastle or Glasgow, with regular nationwide travel this is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on safety performance and support the business through its next phase of growth.

Responsibilities of the Head of Health and Safety will include:

Leading the Health and Safety strategy across a multi-site UK operation, embedding a consistent Safety First culture
Providing senior leadership and challenge to operational teams, ensuring robust standards, controls and risk management are consistently applied
Overseeing safety performance, including incident investigations, audits, reporting and corrective actions, driving continuous improvement
Maintaining and developing Health and Safety systems, policies and standards, ensuring compliance with legislation and industry best practice

The ideal Head of Health and Safety will have:

Proven senior Health and Safety leadership experience within a waste, recycling, industrial or high-risk operational environment
Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation, risk management and safety management systems
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Health and Safety qualification
A practical, visible and collaborative leadership style, with the ability to operate strategically while remaining close to the frontline operation
