As an experienced Lead Practice Nurse at Churchside you will play a crucial role in providing high quality care to our patients. You must be friendly, patient focussed, calm and organised, as well as someone who communicates well with people at all levels. We are seeking someone who provides compassionate care and has attention to detail. Ideally you will have experience working with Systm One, but full training can be provided.

The role requires you to work 37.5 hours per week. Hours can be condensed into 4 days (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday), or worked over 5 days. Wednesday will be a later finish as we provide Enhanced Access opening hours for patients, and start time each day will be 7.30am.

We would also split this role into 2 part time positions and consider recruiting 2 experienced Practice Nurses.

We are seeking applicants who have experience working as a Practice Nurse in a GP setting as we do not have the capacity at this time to train someone.

Main duties of the job

Monitor patient vital signs and record medical information accurately.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Conduct patient assessments and provide appropriate care.

Cytology.

Baby immunisations.

Administer vaccines and medications as needed.

Chronic disease management (Diabetes, COPD, Asthma).

Educate patients on health management and lifestyle choices.

HRT reviews.

Wound care and supporting the HCA's with these.

Phlebotomy.

Dealing with Samples.

Infection control lead.

Ordering of clinical stock items.

Fridge and stock rotations.

Job responsibilities

Provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients as well as nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team.

Lead the nursing/HCA team to provide effective and efficient patient care, and support and identify any training needs within the team.

Person Specification Experience

At least 3 years of experience as a Practice Nurse in a GP setting. Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role is desirable.

Qualifications

Registered nurse with a valid nursing registration. Current BSc in Nursing or equivalent. Training in clinical procedures and NHS systems.
