Yard Supervisor; Late Shifts

£17.10 per hour with a £1.50 shift premium per hour. 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday 15:00-24:00.

• Oversee daily yard operations including loading, unloading, storage, and dispatch of goods and vehicles.
• Schedule and coordinate yard activities to meet production, transport, and delivery timelines.
• Monitor yard layout and ensure optimal space utilisation and organisation.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing stock for accuracy, quality, and safety compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of stock levels, movement logs, and yard documentation.
• Make improvements to yard processes.
• Lead, train, and motivate yard team to maintain high standards of performance and safety.
• Assign tasks and monitor workloads to ensure efficiency and accountability.
• Conduct daily team briefings and weekly toolbox talks to communicate operational priorities and safety updates.
• Manage timekeeping, attendance, and performance reviews for yard personnel.
• Enforce health and safety policies, including proper use of PPE and adherence to site regulations.
• Conduct routine spot checks of yard equipment and vehicles; perform secondary checks on forklifts once a week to ensure proper use.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and legal standards.
• Oversee the maintenance and safe operation of yard vehicles (e.g., forklifts, loaders, cranes).
• Ensure equipment is used correctly and kept in good working condition.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with drivers, contractors, and suppliers to coordinate deliveries and collections that come in/out of the yard.
• Flag and report any significant inventory changes to the office, focusing on high quantity products, items running low, and slow-moving stock.
• Work closely with the Depot Manager, Assistant Manager, and office team.

Must hold a valid FLT Certificate.
