Join Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC) as a Counselor to support individuals with substance use disorder in a residential setting located in Manteno.
Job DescriptionFGC is a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization dedicated to treating and preventing substance use disorders and related issues. Since 1969, our comprehensive programming has guided individuals toward productive lives within families and communities.
Duties & Responsibilities- Develop and implement patient treatment plans based on research, clinical experience, and patient history, using computer assessments.
- Conduct patient intakes (biopsychosocial assessment) and provide individual and group therapy to a full caseload.
- Coordinate case management, staffing, aftercare planning, and discharge processes.
- Achieve a minimum of 20 billable clinical hours per week, with at least 51 % of work time in face‑to‑face counseling.
- Review and evaluate patient progress relative to measurable treatment goals.
- Sign‑On Bonus: $3,000 total – $1,500 after 30 days of employment; $1,500 after 6 months.
- Starting pay: $42,000 (without certification) or $47,500 (with certification).

Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Requirements- High‑School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience with substance use, detox programs, medication‑assisted treatment, behavioral healthcare, or community relations.
- IAODAPCA Certified Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselor (CADC) certification required, or ability to obtain within the allotted time from hire date.
- DCFS clearance required.
- Commitment to a drug‑free environment (THC/CBD prohibited).
