Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Description
This is an hourly position in Manteno, IL that reports to the Plant Manager. This position is responsible for operating (driving) a Forklift & is a crucial role for maintaining the cleanliness & organization of our production area while handling the movement of products with precision & care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklift trucks & other material handling equipment to load, unload, transport, & store goods within our warehouse.
Requirements- Picks raw material order for Production.
- Accurately select flooring product orders, palletize, & shrink-wrap each order, ensuring secure handling of the heavy material.
- Transport products to & from production into warehouse.
- Store the products in proper places I production warehouse.
- Deliver products in proper places I production warehouse.
- Sort, pack, wrap, tie, & label products as per company procedures.
- Monitor & maintain accurate inventory.
- Clean work area & equipment regularly by removing empty pallets, wood, & plastic.
- Follow company standards & legal regulations to ensure a safe & positive working atmosphere.
- Performs routine pre & post inspections & recommends repairs.
- Study production schedule to determine material requirements, movements, & deliveries.
- Identify & report faulty equipment, damages, & safety concerns to the Supervisor immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years’ warehouse experience.
- 1 year experience operating a Forklift.
- Ability to use a computer &/or RF Scanner.
- Good communication & organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions & work under pressure.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of manufacturing environment & practices preferred.
