Production Trainer

Production Training Specialist | Manteno, IL

Pay: $25–$30/hr

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift | Onsite

Contract: 3 months with intent to convert to direct hire

We are seeking a Production Training Specialist to help build and implement a structured training program within a manufacturing environment. This is a highly hands-on role that will spend significant time on the production floor working directly with frontline employees and production leadership.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing SOPs and work instructions, training hourly employees, identifying training gaps, and creating structure around production training programs. Experience working with an LMS (Learning Management System) is highly preferred.

What You’ll Do

• Work directly with production employees and leadership to identify training needs and process gaps.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and training materials for production processes.
• Conduct hands-on training for new hires, cross-training, and employee retraining.
• Build and maintain a training matrix by employee, position, and department.
• Manage and document employee training completion and requirements.
• Utilize an LMS or other training management system to organize, track, and maintain training records.
• Partner with Production, Quality, Safety, and HR to ensure training meets company requirements.
• Establish standardized training processes that can be sustained by the organization long-term.
• Identify opportunities to improve training processes, documentation, and employee development.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience training hourly/frontline employees in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or similar environment.
• Experience developing SOPs, work instructions, or process documentation.
• LMS experience highly preferred.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to identify gaps and independently develop structure and processes.
• Comfortable working directly on the production floor and interacting with employees at all levels.
• Self-directed, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
• Manufacturing or food manufacturing experience preferred.
