Full Time, Tenure Track position
We are looking for a conscientious and collaborative Special Educator to join our Special Services department. A Special Education Teacher plays a crucial role in the education system, dedicated to students with diverse learning needs. The primary goal is to ensure students with diverse learning needs receive equitable access to education, specialized instruction, and necessary accommodations to succeed academically.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with general education teachers to modify and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse student needs.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and provide timely, meaningful feedback to promote academic and social growth.
- Co‑teach and plan collaboratively to design engaging, inclusive lessons aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Integrate technology, multimedia, and assistive technology to enhance learning and accessibility.
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom community while managing student behavior effectively.
- Maintain consistent communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and strategies for support.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, case managers, and support staff to provide coordinated services.
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Apply principles of differentiated instruction and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to address varied learning styles.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, planning, and time management skills to effectively balance instructional and case management responsibilities.
- Build positive, respectful relationships with students, families, and colleagues, demonstrating empathy and cultural competence.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, or closely related field.
- Valid New Jersey certification as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) or Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH), in conjunction with appropriate Instructional/content area endorsement.
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively integrate technology into instruction.
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

Salary Range: $63,110 - $95,350 based on years of experience and level of education
