** POSITION SUMMARY
** The HVAC Technician works primarily in residential settings, performing maintenance, installation, service repair, replacement, and fit-out work. This critical role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality service. Technicians collaborate with customers, dispatchers, interoffice staff, management, and other technicians to maintain teamwork and morale.
** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Install, maintain, service, and repair HVAC systems (furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related equipment)
* Inspect and assess HVAC systems for performance issues and provide recommendations for repairs or replacements
* Act as a trusted advisor for upgrades and replacements
* Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions using specialized tools and equipment
* Perform routine maintenance (cleaning coils, replacing filters, checking refrigerant levels)
* Install and repair ductwork to ensure proper airflow and ventilation
* Test HVAC systems for proper function and efficiency
* Provide exceptional customer service and explain repairs or maintenance recommendations
* Keep accurate records of work performed, including time, materials, and issues
* Follow safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
* Maintain clean, organized, mechanically sound company vehicle
* Abide by uniform and appearance policies
* Comply with NFPA 70E regulations
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development
* Operate company vehicles for service or installation jobs
* Other duties as assigned
** MINIMUM / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
*** High school diploma or GED
* Operating knowledge of HVAC systems
* Equivalent technical school or work experience
* Five or more years of experience in a related trade
* Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
* EPA Certification preferred but not required
* Ability to work full-time schedule, including on-call nights, weekends, and holidays
** PHYSICAL DEMANDS
*** Regularly required to talk or hear
* Sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with arms
* Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
* Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
** WORK ENVIRONMENT
*** Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, extreme heat, electrical risk, outside weather, and occasional loud noise
