What You'll Do

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, and overall accounting operations. This position performs monthly account reconciliations, variance analysis, and assists with the preparation of consolidated financial statements. The Senior Accountant ensures compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies, conducts technical accounting research, develops and maintains accounting procedures, prepares government reports, supports quarterly reviews and annual audits, and contributes to process improvement and system efficiency initiatives.

  • Month‑End Close & Reconciliation:
    Perform monthly account and bank reconciliations, prepare supporting schedules, and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Variance & Financial Analysis:
    Analyze general ledger accounts, identify variances, and provide explanations or corrective actions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Tax & Regulatory Reporting:
    Prepare and file local and state tax reports, including sales and use tax filings, and assist with other compliance reporting as required.
  • Fixed Assets & Capital Projects:
    Monitor capital projects, process journal entries, manage asset settlements, and prepare monthly depreciation schedules.
  • Journal Entries & Intercompany:
    Assist in month‑end closing by preparing and entering journal entries and performing intercompany reconciliations.
  • Financial Reporting Support:
    Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements and other financial reports for management and corporate review.
  • Audit & Compliance:
    Support quarterly reviews and annual financial audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and addressing auditor inquiries.
  • Process Improvement:
    Identify and implement process enhancements to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of the monthly close and reporting cycle.
  • Collaboration:

    Work closely with the Finance Manager to support divisional and corporate financial initiatives and reporting requirements.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in general and cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment; or 2‑4 years’ experience in public accounting in an audit role.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Advanced analytical and organizational skills and must be detail oriented.
  • Must be proficient with Excel.
  • CPA and ERP experience preferred.
