Staff Accountant

Maple Grove, MN (hybrid role, only local candidates in Minnesota or western Wisconsin will be eligible for consideration)

$75k-$85k dependent on applicable experience

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant for an opportunity with an established organization in the Twin Cities. This individual will work closely with the Controller and Senior Accountant, taking ownership of general ledger activities, month-end close, and financial reporting for multiple communities.

The Staff Accountant will manage assigned close responsibilities, prepare financial statements and support budgeting, forecasting, and audits. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong GL and month-end close experience who can work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced accounting environment.

• Manage monthly close activities, including prepaid expenses, accruals, general ledger work, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and distribute financial statements and reporting to communities.
• Research financial variances, unusual transactions, and accounting discrepancies.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Support year-end audits and prepare supporting documentation and work papers.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and strengthen internal controls.

• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience.
• Hands-on experience with journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, and account reconciliations.
• Experience preparing financial statements and analyzing financial results.
• Ability to independently manage responsibilities and meet close deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education.
