Responsibilities

Follow all District, program, and building health and safety procedures.

Communicate accidents/incidents concerning youth/staff verbally and in writing to Program Leaders and/or families as needed.

Actively supervise all youth in the program at all times.

Accurately count and track students throughout transitions, activities, spaces, and field trips to ensure all children are accounted for at all times.

Maintain confidentiality and privacy of youth and families.

Support field trips and adjust hours and/or locations as needed.

Collaborate with Program Leaders and staff to ensure the well-being of youth.

Follow up with families regarding concerns or feedback and complete necessary documentation.

Provide excellent customer service by greeting families and ensuring youth are signed in/out of the program.

Perform additional site duties as assigned.

Welcome and value diversity in thought, culture, and perspective, fostering an inclusive environment free of judgment.

Assist with medical, physical, or behavioral needs as necessary, including supporting individual accommodations.

Assist youth with self-care tasks (e.g., feeding, dressing, toileting); lifting, moving, and transitioning may be necessary for repositioning and/or functional tasks.

Create and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all families, youth, and staff regardless of abilities, ethnicity, gender, or religious beliefs.

Support, create, and lead/facilitate a variety of enriching activities promoting social, emotional, and overall well-being, including health/fitness, science, social skills, literacy, music, art, and service learning.

Organize enriching opportunities for youth across different age groups, abilities, and identities.

Lead small and/or large group activities.

Engage actively with youth, role modeling positive behavior, supervision, and leadership.

Uphold the mission, philosophy, guidelines, policies, and procedures of the District and Kidstop program.

Gather input from youth and staff to develop activities and capture youth voice.

Ensure all supplies are ready, organized, and available for activities.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have 12 semester credits or more in child development.

Must have 2,080 hours of direct work experience with Kindergarten-5th grade age group.

Create lesson plans to implement and lead educational/enrichment activities, capturing youth voice.

Possess skills such as organization, flexibility, confidence, patience, understanding, teamwork, and communication.

Locations

and Hours

Positions are available at various sites including Basswood, Cedar Island, Edinbrook, Elm Creek, Fernbrook, Oak View, Rice Lake, Rush Creek, Weaver Lake, and Woodland Elementary Schools. Hours vary depending on program needs, typically from 1.5 to 3.5 hours per day, with additional hours on non-school days between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
Have 12 or more semester credits in child development.
Have 2,080 hours of direct experience with Kindergarten-5th grade.
