About the role
Boston Scientific is looking for a Sr R&D Engineer that will focus on early-stage prototyping, developing, and optimizing new design solutions for single-use catheter-based devices that help advance a complex medical therapy. This is an exciting opportunity to join the growing Research and Development team in Boston Scientific’s Renal Denervation Organization. In this role, you’ll work on a wide variety of challenging and rewarding new product development activities focused on bringing new and impactful therapies to patients around the globe.

Work modeAt Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows an onsite work model, requiring employees to be present in our Maple Grove, MN office, at least four to five days per week.
Your responsibilities will include- Troubleshoot technical issues and implement robust engineering solutions.
- Develop new test methods to assess product performance.
- Develop test plans, execute experiments, analyze data, and present findings.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align design, manufacturing, and quality requirements.
- Lead project tasks from early prototyping through design verification and commercialization.
- Understanding the anatomy and clinical use cases to inform design decisions.
- Contribute to intellectual property development and innovation efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Biomedical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Required minimum years of work experience (primarily in medical device or related field): 5+ Years with BS, 3+ Years with MS
- Strong engineering fundamentals and sound technical judgment.
- Self-driven, with a creative approach to solving complex engineering problems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to execute and follow through on project responsibilities.
- Team-oriented mindset that thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Good organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to understand clinical application and translate to design features and requirements.
- Experience designing, prototyping, and implementing innovative solutions for medical applications.
- Experience designing catheter based medical devices that involve RF or Ultrasound energy delivery, or electronic based diagnostics.
- Familiarity with DFM principles, design controls, quality systems, and the product development lifecycle (PLCP).
- Background in experimental design, data analysis, and communicating technical findings.
- Proficiency using Solid Works.
- Willingness to travel in support of project activities.

Maximum Salary: $156900
The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
