We’re thrilled to be developing a new platform technology to treat calcified artery disease. We’re looking for a dynamic R&D Engineer for catheter development. If you have expertise in balloon catheter product development and a passion for creating cutting‑edge technology, this is the perfect opportunity for you! At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our Maple Grove, MN office five days per week.

• Technical Contribution
  :
  Participate in the design and development of medical devices, ensuring they meet user needs and regulatory requirements.
• Design and Development
  :
  Conduct feasibility studies, develop prototypes, and perform testing and validation to optimize product designs.
• Problem‑Solving and Compliance
  :
  Investigate failure modes, perform root‑cause analyses, and develop solutions to address technical challenges. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  :
  Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, quality, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs, to ensure successful product development and integration.
• Documentation and Reporting
  :
  Prepare and review engineering documentation, including technical reports, design history files, and regulatory submissions. Present project updates and technical insights to stakeholders.

• BS or above in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of engineering experience with a bachelor's degree OR 2+ years with a master's degree.
• 2+ years of experience with Medtech device design and development.
• Previous experience with product integrations.
• Expertise to provide technical leadership with product strategy – design and development.
• Strong technical knowledge, problem‑solving abilities, collaborative mindset, and effective communication skills.

• Personal drive, individual accountability & a strong bias for action.
• An independent critical thinker; willingness to challenge status quo.
• Comfortable working 'in the gray'; known for innovative, out of the box thinking to identify new approaches to meeting requirements.
• Experience with medical device development for single use devices and those containing Electronic Medical Equipment.
• Experience with Boston Scientific Design Controls & Risk Management practices.
