Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer serves as a technical leader responsible for designing and developing advanced thermal management and production solutions for high-performance systems, with a focus on large-scale, complex projects in data center, high-density, and manufacturing environments. This role combines high-level technical strategy with hands-on implementation, driving new product development, design for manufacturability, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver innovative, reliable, and efficient cooling and production solutions for mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities

+ Lead and manage complex engineering projects from initial sale through shipment, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination to ensure successful delivery.

+ Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to create efficient, cost-effective designs and maintain DFM guidelines within the engineering team.

+ Collaborate closely with production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing and assembly issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to support continuous improvement.

+ Optimize engineering and manufacturing processes and propose cost-saving initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce overall manufacturing costs.

+ Manage vendor relationships and component purchasing activities, ensuring timely delivery of materials and effectively resolving supply chain challenges.

+ Research, evaluate, and recommend technology improvements for existing products to enhance performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

+ Drive innovation in design and manufacturing practices by identifying opportunities for new approaches, tools, and methodologies.

+ Develop, monitor, and report performance metrics for projects, production handoffs, and departmental improvements to support data-driven decision-making.

+ Provide leadership and mentorship within the engineering team, including facilitating engineering meetings, organizing training programs, and supporting the development of subject matter experts.

+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing operations to improve quality, efficiency, and consistency of output.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

+ 4+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field.

+ Proficiency in mechanical design and product development, including experience with new product development processes.

+ Hands-on experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and applying DFM principles to real-world projects.

+ Strong proficiency with Solid Works or similar 3D CAD tools for mechanical design and modeling.

+ Demonstrated project management experience, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination.

+ Solid understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes and how they interact in a production environment.

+ Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.

+ Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, sales, and business functions.

+ Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive technical strategy on complex, large-scale projects.
