About this position

The Lead Security Officer works under the supervision of the Supervisor and Manager, Safety & Security and is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, team members and medical staff. In addition, the lead is responsible for the direction and coordination of functions, personnel and activities of the department. Actively and consistently demonstrates the mission, vision, values and guiding principles of North Memorial Maple Grove Hospital.

Requirements Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Post-secondary education in security, law enforcement, or criminal justice program preferred.
Experience
  • Must have one of the following:
  • 3+ years providing direct customer service utilizing conflict resolution skills on a daily basis.
  • 2+ years having direct patient contact in a level I trauma center in an emergency department setting.
  • 2+ years demonstrated ability to de-escalate conflict in a positive manner.
  • 1+ years of law enforcement and/or military experience, with confrontational situations preferred.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to build and sustain positive working relationships in the organization.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
  • Basic computer knowledge required.
Licensure/Certification

Valid Driver's License in state of residency with acceptable driving record
