HVAC Apprentice - 3rd Year

Overview

Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time HVAC Apprentice in Maple Grove, MN. The base pay range is $46.00/hr - $48.00/hr the position involves diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, including rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers.

• Perform and assist in service of equipment including inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality, such as fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes.
• Assist in rebuilding HVAC units with detailed direction while working alongside Journeyman and Foreman.
• Drive a company vehicle to and from jobsite. Transport and maintain inventory of hand tools and materials for job completion.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
• Perform basic data entry and navigate email, internet, and word processing programs.
• Communicate professionally in appearance, and verbal and written form.
• Interact with customers by providing status reports before, during, and after each call; explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers and off-site learning modules.
• Maintain all required certifications and continue developing new skills.
• Complete jobsite hazard assessments prior to initiating service and adhere to Daikin Applied and customer safety policies and OSHA guidelines.

• Accepted as 3rd year Apprentice by the union
• High School Diploma or GED
• Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Rotational Emergency Call Support
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

• Member of local union or willing to join the union
• Commercial HVAC Industry Experience
• OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process)
• Current first aid / CPR card

• Factory Certified Training, Refrigeration Certification or other professional on-the-job training in the HVAC Industry

The expected hourly rate for this position is $46 - 48 in MN. The rate is subject to the amount outlined in the CBA and could change based on the level offered.
