About the role:

Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated R&D software engineer. The successful candidate will lead a team in the design and development of medical device software. Be a part of Boston Scientific's growing ICTx R&D organization as we develop innovative products that sustain and improve the lives of patients around the world. You will use your technical and collaboration skills alongside your passion for innovation and continuous improvement to help drive our product development forward.

Mode:

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our Maple Grove, MN office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Lead a team to design, implement, document, test and support medical device software.
  • Communicate status and risks to internal stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Assign work and track progress for developers on the team using agile methodologies.
  • Document software development activities using our approved procedures and standards.
  • Analyze, evaluate and verify requirements for our software and systems using software engineering best practices.
  • Continuously improves process and work methodologies by interfacing with peers/cross‑functional groups and analyzing activities to improve workflow and work processes.
  • Directly support personnel and project activities to meet project goals and timelines
  • Mentor junior engineers in hardware and software engineering activities, methodologies and domain knowledge.
  • Participate as a reviewer for design and development activities.
Required qualifications:
  • 4-year degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ Years of relevant work experience with BS.
  • 6+ Years of relevant work experience with MS.
  • 4+ Years of relevant work experience with PhD.
  • Experience developing software within the medical device industry.
  • Experience writing windows-based software using Microsoft Tools.
  • Experience documenting deliverables compliant with IEC 62304 and relevant FDA guidance.
  • Experience developing in C# and C++ programming languages.
  • Experience leading software development teams using Agile Methodologies.
  • Experience working on projects involving multi‑functional engineering teams.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Chain.
  • Experience with windows debugging and memory management tools.
  • Experience with code optimization techniques.
  • Experience with writing software to enhance security.
  • Experience writing software that interfaces with custom hardware.
  • Experience with automation frameworks for building and testing software.

Minimum Salary:$99100

Maximum Salary: $188300

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see — will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.

At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non‑exempt (hourly), non‑sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
