Conteco Manufacturing is a growing manufacturing company specializing in precision Mold Making and injection mold Manufacturing. We operate in a dynamic, fast-paced production environment where accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork are essential. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Junior Accountant to join our team and support both our financial and operational workflows.
Role DescriptionThe Bookkeeper/Junior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, processing journal entries, and using accounting software to manage company finances. Day-to-day tasks include bookkeeping, managing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy in financial documentation. The ideal candidate has a strong working knowledge of Sage Accounting Pro, experience managing A/P, A/R, payroll entries, and government remittances, and familiarity with coordinating shipments and customs documentation.
This is an on-site role requiring 5 days per week in the office for up to 30 hours a week.
- Process and record AP and AR
, vendor bills, customer payments, and general journal entries. - Complete bank and credit card reconciliations weekly and monthly.
- Process payroll and prepare and file payroll remittances
, T4 slips, and other statutory filings. - Prepare and file GST/PST remittances.
- Maintain and update General Ledger
, ensuring accurate cost allocation across jobs and manufacturing activities. - Prepare and issue customer invoices
, coordinating with production and shipping to ensure accuracy. - Assist with month-end and year-end close
, preparing required schedules and reconciliations. - Maintain organized filing systems for invoices, receipts, job paperwork, and financial records.
- Track and record inventory purchases
, vendor charges, and subcontracted services. - Support the preparation of documentation for external accountants and auditors.
- Prepare packing slips and shipment documentation for outgoing orders.
- Coordinate freight, courier bookings, and follow up on deliveries.
- Liaise with customs brokers for both import and export shipments.
- Maintain accurate records of customs paperwork and compliance documents.
- Provide administrative support to operations and management.
- Communicate professionally with employees, suppliers, and customers.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (manufacturing industry experience is a strong asset).
- Proficiency with Sage 50 Accounting Pro
. - Solid understanding of AP/AR, reconciliations, general ledger
, and month-end processes. - Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking capabilities.
- Ability to work on-site in a production/manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Accurate, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
- Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently.
- Salary Range: $22-$24,5/hr, based on experience & fit for role
- Bonus opportunity: 2.5% of base salary
