Middle School Art Teaching

Position: Middle School Art Teaching Role
Elevate student creativity at Meadowridge School as a Middle School Visual Arts Teacher during a one-year maternity leave. Guide students in personal artistic development and exploration aligned with IB principles.

Your primary responsibility will be to create an engaging, inquiry-based visual arts curriculum. This role supports the academic, emotional, and social growth of students, emphasizing collaboration with school staff and the wider community. You'll nurture students' artistic skills and promote a love for the arts in a vibrant and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on interdisciplinary units with colleagues

• Design engaging art lessons based on IB MYP guidelines

• Supervise and mentor art-related co-curricular activities

• Organize student art exhibitions and community showcases

• Prepare students for IB assessments in visual arts

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Art Education or Fine Arts

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate or eligible

• Experience in Middle School art education

• Proficiency with digital and traditional art tools

• Excellent interpersonal and mentorship skills
