Join School District No. 42 as an Elementary Counsellor, playing a crucial role in fostering student growth. This 0.8 FTE continuing position begins on September 1, 2026.

SD42 is committed to enhancing the well-being of its approximately 17,000 students in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. The position focuses on delivering preventive and intervention-based counselling services tailored for young learners. You will collaborate closely with educators, families, and community partners to promote positive change and educational success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide counselling in individual and group settings

• Support educators in planning Individual Education Plans

• Facilitate partnerships with community organizations

• Enhance student transitions through supportive activities

• Foster resilient problem-solving and social skills in students

Requirements:

• Master's degree in counselling psychology or equivalent

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate & TQS card

• Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities

• Proven experience in elementary education and counselling

• Familiarity with trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
