Itinerant Elementary School Counsellor

Provide essential counselling support as an Itinerant Elementary Counsellor in School District No. 42. This temporary role focuses on social and emotional growth for students.

School District No. 42 is in search of a skilled Elementary Counsellor for a temporary 0.4 FTE position, effective September 1, 2026. You will play a crucial role by delivering counselling services designed to uplift students’ social skills, emotional growth, and personal resilience. Engaging collaboratively with educators, families, and community partners ensures the best support for students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate individual and classroom counselling sessions

• Support transitions for students and families

• Assist in the development of Individual Education Plans

• Collaborate with school teams for effective interventions

• Connect students to local community resources

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in counselling psychology or equivalent

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate & TQS card

• Experience with elementary teaching and counselling

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Committed to trauma-informed practices
