Position: Elementary School Counsellor at SD42
Join School District No. 42 as an Elementary Counsellor in a temporary 0.2 FTE role. You'll support students' personal and emotional growth through various counselling techniques.

This position, effective September 1, 2026, involves providing individual and group counselling as part of the Safe and Caring Schools program. Your work will include building self-awareness, emotional regulation, and social skills in diverse school communities. Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and staff to foster student well-being and success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and small-group counselling services

• Deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices

• Support students in emotional regulation and problem-solving

• Collaborate with education teams and families for outreach

• Maintain accurate documentation per district policies

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in counselling psychology or equivalent

• Successful classroom teaching and counselling experience

• Exceptional communication skills with school teams

• Collaborative mindset for student-focused outcomes

• Ability to work across multiple school communities
