Position: Counsellor for Safe Schools Program
Elevate student well-being as a Counsellor with School District No. 42 in Maple Ridge, BC. This temporary position emphasizes individual and group counselling for student development.

Effective from September 1, 2026, this 0.4 FTE role is integral to the Safe and Caring Schools program. You will implement developmentally appropriate counselling practices while supporting students through transitions and fostering essential life skills. Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and community resources to enhance student growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide classroom-based counselling services

• Support students’ emotional regulation and social skills

• Collaborate with school teams for effective strategies

• Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

• Coordinate referrals to community support resources

Requirements:

• Master's degree in counselling psychology or similar

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate & TQS card

• Proven experience in elementary teaching and counselling

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to document in line with district policies
