Position: Temporary Secondary Counsellor Opportunity
Join School District No. 42 as a Temporary Secondary Counsellor in Maple Ridge. This role spans from September 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, focusing on student support and well-being.

This position at Westview Secondary School encompasses personal, academic, and career counselling for students in Grades 8-12. Key tasks include leading group counselling, supporting international students, and coordinating emergency referrals.

Your role will also involve facilitating mediation and connecting students with community resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide career counselling for Grades 8-12 students

• Conduct group sessions to support student development

• Liaise with international students and their families

• Respond to crisis situations and coordinate support

• Organize career exploration and assessment events

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in counselling psychology or related field

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate & TQS card

• Excellent team collaboration and communication skills

• Experience working with outside agencies for case management

• Familiarity with secondary school Ministry requirements
